The World Health Organization (WHO) has joined forces with Noora Health in a groundbreaking three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing global support for family caregivers. This initiative highlights the critical yet often overlooked role that family members play in health systems worldwide.
The formalization of this strategic collaboration took place during the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva in May 2025. The partnership is a significant step forward in recognizing and addressing the needs of family caregivers, who are essential in providing care throughout various stages of life.
Dr. Bruce Aylward, Assistant Director-General for Universal Health Coverage – Life Course at WHO, and Dr. Shahed Alam, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Noora Health, represented their organizations during the signing ceremony. This collaboration aims to develop resources, training, and support systems that empower family caregivers, thereby improving health outcomes for both caregivers and those they care for.
