Today's spotlight shines on two delightful dogs bringing joy to the Vanderbilt community. First is Momo, a blue merle Australian Shepherd owned by Ginger DeBellis of the Vanderbilt Vaccine Center. Described as sweet and super smart, Momo enjoys mastering new tricks, keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood, and cuddling up for snuggles.
The second featured pup is Smokey, belonging to Haley Villacorta from Population Health. Smokey is an adorable Pomsky, a charming mix of Pomeranian and Siberian Husky breeds. These pets were highlighted as part of a regular series that celebrates the animal companions of university staff and faculty.
The pets are chosen from numerous submissions received during a photo contest. Selected animals are featured in the regular internal newsletter, with broader collections of pet photos also being shared internally. The initiative offers a welcome, heartwarming break, showcasing the beloved animals that are part of the Vanderbilt family outside of work. For those interested in submitting their own pet, future contest periods will be announced through the same newsletter channel.
