The program, called the Trauma-Informed Maternal Health Chaplaincy Volunteer Program, aims to address the often-overlooked mental and spiritual needs of new and expecting mothers.

The initiative recruits and trains volunteer chaplains to work directly with patients in prenatal clinics and postpartum units. These volunteers are specifically trained in trauma-informed care, meaning they understand how past traumatic experiences can affect a person's pregnancy and recovery.
