The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health Department of Environmental Health Sciences is dedicated to fostering an appreciation for science and public health among the youth of Arkansas. Recently, the department had the pleasure of hosting the Chipato Valley Girl Scouts, an initiative aimed at educating young minds about the importance of health and environmental science.
During the visit, the Girl Scouts participated in various hands-on activities designed to illustrate key concepts in public health. These activities emphasized the significance of environmental awareness and healthy living, aligning with the department's mission to instill a sense of responsibility towards community health. The event not only provided valuable learning experiences for the scouts but also encouraged them to think critically about the role of science in their everyday lives.
Through such initiatives, the UAMS College of Public Health continues to inspire the next generation to engage with scientific principles and consider careers in health-related fields.
