CASPER, Wyo. - The Casper-Natrona County Health Department conducted its weekly inspections of local food establishments, covering restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, mobile food units, and commissaries. The report for the period of July 3 through July 9 highlights several routine checks and a few notable violations.
At a popular downtown diner, inspectors found improper cold-holding temperatures for dairy products, leading to a temporary correction. The establishment was cited for a repeat violation regarding sanitizer concentration in the dishwashing area. Management corrected the issue on-site. A convenience store on the east side received a passing grade after addressing a previous complaint about pest activity, though inspectors noted the need for better sealing around a back door.
A mobile food unit operating near the fairgrounds was temporarily shut down due to a lack of running water and improper handwashing facilities. The unit was allowed to reopen after installing a portable sink and demonstrating compliance. most facilities showed good practices, with the majority receiving satisfactory ratings. The health department reminds the public that full inspection reports are available for review at their office during business hours.
